We’re excited that our new, SELF, healthy food truck is open and operating Monday to Friday. You’ll find it located right outside the Hebridean Inn on the Isle of Skye.
SELF is more than a food truck, it’s an ethos around healthy eating that aims to help you look after your SELF. Hebridean Inn Owner, John Coghill, combines his culinary expertise with the finest local ingredients to offer an alternative to fast food. Not only that, and in an effort to create a sustainable business, SELF, also provides jobs for the local community.
John is passionate about being part of the healthy food movement, and putting SELF on the map. He’s adamant Scotland has more to offer than IRN BRU, sugary Scottish tablet and shortbread. With the abundant natural larder around him, SELF serves up sustainable, healthy salads, curries and nutritious raw goodies.
After working long shifts in hospitality for over twenty years, John knew there had to be a way for him to ditch the fast foods and sugary drinks that were having a negative impact on his health. After researching and playing around in the kitchen, inspired by Rangan Chatergee’s Podcasts and Mark Hyman’s “Food Fix – How to Save Our Health, Our Economy, Our Communities, and Our Planet”, John created SELF.
SELF’s choice of fresh, healthy salads, curries, and nutritious goodies is varied daily. Situated right outside the hotel, with a breathtaking view of Broadfoot Bay, SELF is a place to come and be selfless, selfish and re-fuel!
Come and visit us for brunch or lunch, every weekday Monday to Friday between 11am – 2pm. The SELF food truck serves up healthy, nourishing, local fast food. Choose from ready to go bowls of hot and cold food, and snacks, created with passion for healthy food with no compromise on taste.
